Summer is the time to water the lawns, have the kids play in the sprinklers, and generally splash around some water. Even if you have water softener, you’re likely to have hard water stains all over your Poway windows.

There are professional Poway glass services, but you’re able to do it at home with little to no cost, if you put a little effort into it.

The first step is to clean off the window of dirt and grim. rinse it and keep it wet. The key is to keep it cool, you DON’T want to do this on hot glass.

you can use straight vinegar on light spots. Use a micro fiber rag and dampen the rag with vinegar (White works well)

for tougher spots and those that have been setting there for months or years need something a little tougher. That’s where a Cerium Oxide comes into play. Cerium Oxide is a polishing compound that can be found online.

You’ll also need a scrubber sponge. Different scrubber sponges can scratch your windows so make sure to get scrubber pads rated for glass. ultra fine steel wool can work as well.

Mix your Cerium Oxide with a little bit of water, enough to make it into a paste like substance. Dip your sponge in there and scrub on your window in a circular motion.

depending on how tough it is, you might have to use a polishing disk, if you don’t have one, you can check hardware stores to see if they rent them.

once it sits for a bit, but not completely dry, simply wipe it off with a microfiber towel and you’ll see the spots are gone off your Poway glass!
